Zhi Lin

Ph. D. Candidate

Zhi Lin is a PhD candidate in the School of Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a recipient of the 2025 Spring TIPI fellowship. Her research explores the intersection of emerging media technology, global political communication and social media ecosystem.

At TIPI, her work explores civic engagement in AI governance. Her research has been published in journals including Political Communication, Information, Communication and Society, Computers in Human Behavior, Media, Culture and Society, Health Communication. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Internet and New Media from Sun Yat-Sen University and an MPhil degree in Communication Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University.
