Yifan Xu

Graduate Researcher

Yifan Xu is a doctoral candidate in Organizational Communication & Technology at The University of Texas at Austin. 

Her research focuses on communicative practices that produce knowledge about and shape technology outcomes, advocating for responsible practices in the context of emerging technology and contributing to a more informed and equitable society.

Yifan has collaborated with technologists, community members, and government officials on multiple projects through UT Good Systems (Ethical AI Initiative), Texas Robotics Institute, and Texas Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas.  At TIPI, her work has resulted in multiple publications and conference presentations, including her work in Human-Machine Communication, Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management, Annals of International Communication Association, and Journal of Applied Communication.
