André K. Rodarte 

Graduate Researcher

André is a third-year PhD student in the School of Journalism and Media. He holds an MPhil in the Sociology of Media and Culture (St. Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge) and an undergraduate degree in Social Communication (ESPM). He is a graduate research fellow at the Center of Media Engagement. His research interests include political representation, media sociology, and computational propaganda, with an empirical focus on Latin America. 
His latest research publications include the article “‘Representing “The People’: What Can Social Media Images Reveal About Populist Propaganda in Brazil?” in Social Media + Society and “Bringing Conflict Back in: Computational propaganda and totalitarian political communication in Brazil” in Routledge Handbook of Conflict and Peace Communication.
