The UT Austin | Portugal Digital Media program is pleased to offer participation grants for original papers or poster sessions presented at the Doctoral Seminar on November 29-30, 2018.

The specific aim of these grants is to provide financial support for the thesis and to encourage digital media graduate students to present their original papers and research during the upcoming Doctoral Seminar 2018, November 29-30 in Lisbon.

The funding available for students is up to $4,000 per person to use to support their work. Participant payments will be based on the quality of the application documents submitted. Attending or presenting at the symposium is complimentary with RSVP.

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be considered eligible for a grant, candidates need to show evidence of:

  • an approved Digital Media dissertation research plan (Plano de Tese)
  • current and good standing in the Digital Media Doctoral Program at Universidade Nova de Lisboa or University do Porto.

Both should be validated in a letter from their advisor or sponsor and attached to the form below.

The selection jury is composed of the following professors: Paulo Nuno Vicente, Antonio Coelho, Nuno Correia, and Sharon Strover, all affiliated with the UT Austin | Portugal Digital Media program.

SUBMISSION & DEADLINE

Applications must be submitted in English by 5 p.m. (WEST or CST) on September 30, 2018.  Decisions will be made within two weeks.
